Ordinance expands details of city’s declaration of disaster

by | Apr 2, 2020 | Latest

The Farmersville City Council, needing an extra meeting to iron out details, has approved an ordinance that expands on and broadens a mayoral declaration of disaster due to public health emergency in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

The approval came during a special meeting Monday night. The ordinance will be in force until April 17, unless the council – which is scheduled to meet on April 14 – amends the end-date for the mayor’s disaster declaration. The council approved the ordinance unanimously, with Councilmen Dwain Mathers and Jim Hemby attending via teleconference; Councilman Donny Mason was absent.
