Farmersville ISD offering free summer meals to youth

Last week, the FISD Child Nutrition Department began offering a free meal program to children 18 and younger and to enrolled students with disabilities 21 years old or younger within the district.

The Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) is a U.S. Department of Agriculture nutrition program administered in the Lone Star State by the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA).

Meals will be served at Farmersville Junior High and Tatum Elementary. No identification or pre-registration is required.

The lunch program began May 30 and continues through Friday, June 30. FJHS will serve breakfast Tuesdays through Fridays from 7 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. and lunch from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tatum Elementary will serve breakfast Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. and lunch from noon to 1 p.m.

Additionally, both schools will offer lunch and breakfast on July 25, 26 and 27.
