College seeks trustee for Place 8 vacancy

Application filing ends June 26 

Collin College is seeking applicants to fill the Place 8 seat on its Board of Trustees following the retirement of founding trustee and Farmersville resident Robert “Bob” Collins after 41 years of service. 

To be eligible for consideration, candidates must be U.S. citizens, at least 18 years old, qualified voters and residents of Collin County for six continuous months and Texas for 12 continuous months prior to appointment.

According to college officials, the selected candidate must be willing to remain a Collin County resident throughout the appointment and be available to attend monthly board meetings.

Applications are being accepted immediately. Interested candidates should submit an application for consideration form, résumé and two letters of recommendation.

Completed applications should be submitted to Deputy Elections Secretary Kristy Horkman by email at [email protected] or by mail to Collin College, 3452 Spur 399, McKinney, TX 75069.

Applications, cover letters, résumés and recommendation letters must be received no later than 5 p.m. Friday, June 26.

The application form is available through the board elections section of the Collin College website. Additional information about the Board of Trustees is available on the college’s board webpage.

The Collin College Board of Trustees will appoint a successor to complete the remainder of the term.
