Council to discuss slew of items tonight

A slew of items are up for discussion on tonight’s city council agenda.

Among items is a discussion about live streams of city council meetings, the purchase and maintenance of an electrical substation from Oncor, a presentation from Garland Power and Light regarding future transmission lines, an update on wastewater treatment plants, a proposed development agreement between city of Farmersville and Reliable Concrete and a proposed development agreement between the city and Nelson Brothers Ready Mix.

Also on the agenda is a discussion about allowing a horse drawn carriage vendor to be established in the city, a resolution about the Chamber of Commerce’s Yards of Yard sales, a discussion about the disclosure of prior utility costs and usage to renters.

In closed session, the council will be consulting with its city attorney regarding an insurance claim for Mont Hendricks regarding a sewer system back up and pending or contemplated litigation and settlement offer with the United States Department of Justice. All actions taken on closed session items must be done in open session.

Meetings start at 6 p.m. and are open to the public. Public comments are at the beginning of the meeting and citizens may speak for three minutes. City Hall is located at 205 S. Main Street.
