As the Farmersville ISD school board moves into budget discussions for the upcoming school year, they’re weighing the merits of renovating the junior high and building an indoor sports facility.
Trustees met in regular session Monday, June 24 at the administration building.
During the workshop, they discussed concerns regarding the budget, revenue templates, salary schedule, merit pay and various facilities.
One of the biggest issues is the junior high. According to members of the board, it is in a state of disrepair and in need of modernization. They discussed adding a Career and Technical Education (CTE) wing and two gyms, which would cost $49 million. If they added a new auditorium, the price would jump to $60 million.
