About the only thing that slowed down the Farmersville football team during last Friday’s non-district home game against North Lamar was Mother Nature.
The Farmers raced out to a 21-0 lead before a lightning delay halted the proceedings just 32 minutes after kickoff. The two teams waited for 66 minutes before a decision was made by officials from both schools to cancel the remainder of the game with just one quarter being played between the Farmers and Panthers at Farmers Stadium.
Before the game was canceled, Farmersville put forth a dominant performance on both sides of the ball.
Farmersville outgained North Lamar 149 to 18 in total yardage.
Senior Marquis Oshodi finished with 40 rushing yards on four carries and two touchdowns, followed by senior Gordon Swartz, who had 25 rushing yards on four carries with one score.
Junior quarterback Levi McAbee finished an efficient 8-for-10 through the air with 88 passing yards. More than half of that total was caught by junior wide receiver Amare Warren, who caught five passes for 50 yards.
