It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Austin Earl Hill, who left this world on December 30, 2025, at the age of 78. He was born on April 5, 1947, in McKinney, Texas to Willie and Lockey (Robinson) Hill. Austin served in the United States Air Force from June of 1966 to April of 1970. On October 6, 1977, he married Clara (Sitton) in Richardson, Texas.
Austin enjoyed playing dominoes and card games. He was an avid golfer and proudly celebrated a notable “hole in one.” Austin was a familiar face in Farmersville, where he operated a successful dry-cleaning service that he opened in 1990, Austin’s Cleaners. He was also a member of Trinity Baptist Church of Farmersville.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Clara; his daughters, Karen Vaughan (her husband, Lance) and Tonya Mercer (her husband, Jeff); grandchildren, Dustin Winchell (his wife, Victoria), Lexi Winchell, Zachary Winchell, and Ashley Mercer; and great-grandchildren, Harper Winchell, Colyn Mercer, and Emma Winchell. His brothers, Mike Hill; William Hill (his wife, Tommie); Roy Hill; Gary Hill (his wife, Kris); and Billy Hill (his wife, Paulette), as well as his sisters, Linda Woody; Tina Thiel (her husband, Leo); and Laurie Henager (her husband, Harold). Austin is also survived by many nieces and nephews.Austin was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Lockey Hill, and his brother, Tim Hill.
A funeral service was held at 2:00pm on Monday, January 5, 2026, at the First Baptist Church of Farmersville under the direction of Hurst’s Fielder-Baker Funeral Home. Interment followed the service at I.O.O.F Cemetery.
