by | Feb 11, 2021 | Latest

The Farmersville Fire Department is serving a growing community and with that growth comes an increase in fire service calls.

So it is, then, that the fire department has released its 2020 fire-call report, which shows a significant increase over the previous year in various categories of responses.

The fire department responded to 83 motor vehicle wrecks in 2020, compared to 66 in 2019; it fought 15 structure fires this past year – all of which occurred outside the city limits, compared to 14 the previous year; medical calls accounted for 879 calls in 2020, compared to 741 in 2019; and lockouts required 23 responses this past year compared to 13 the previous year.

The statistics were provided by the fire department, which reported that some categories of response saw a decrease year over year. The department responded to 25 persons in distress calls in 2020, compared to 30 the year before and 22 hazardous conditions calls in 2020 compared to 38 in 2019.
