by | Dec 12, 2024 | Latest

The annual Farmersville Christmas parade will begin at 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14 on the downtown square.

Farmersville will be bustling with holiday spirit on Saturday, Dec. 14, with a full lineup of seasonal events.

The day kicks off with the annual Rudolph Run 5K and a 1-mile Fun Run, starting at 7 a.m. at the Onion Shed. According to the chamber, “it’s a free event for the whole family” including pups on leashes.

Victorian Christmas tours and a holiday market will continue at the Bain-Honaker House, 108 College St., from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Visitors can step back in time to enjoy the charm of a historic holiday celebration.

The Farmersville Heritage Museum will host its annual LEGO exhibit, a popular family attraction. The museum will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., then reopen for an evening showing from 6 to 9 p.m.

At 11 a.m., the Independent Order of Odd Fellows Pride Lodge 228 will lead the local observance of National Wreaths Across America Day. The event, held at the Farmersville I.O.O.F. Cemetery, will honor the nation’s veterans and is part of a nationwide effort spanning more than 4,500 locations. Tonya Fox, co-coordinator, will guide the program.

The day’s festivities will conclude with the annual Christmas parade, sponsored by the Farmersville Chamber of Commerce. This year’s theme, “Songs of the Season,” will bring holiday tunes to life with festive floats and music.

The parade begins at 6 p.m., with participants lining up on Farmersville Parkway starting at 3:30 p.m. Judging for the entries will take place at 5 p.m. A $15 late entry fee will apply after the registration deadline, with proceeds supporting local causes. Registration is open at farmersvillechamber.com.
