One month ago, the Farmersville girls’ basketball team was struggling to put everything together.
The Lady Farmers had a 3-11 record on Dec. 13. Offensively, Farmersville scored more than 40 points in just two of those contests. The Lady Farmers were also playing without starting point guard Alexia Hernandez, who was recovering from an injury, but has since returned to the lineup.
Farmersville has since overcome those struggles and is now headed to the postseason for a third consecutive season.
Led by 13 points from junior Katelynn McRay, 10 from senior Kylie McGee and nine by junior guard Rileigh Blankenship, the Lady Farmers defeated Quinlan Ford 43-33 on Friday, Jan. 24 to officially clinch a playoff berth.
Farmersville improved to 11-12 overall and 6-1 in District 13-4A while retaining sole possession of second place in District 13-4A.
