Farmersville teachers will soon see a pay increase according to preliminary budget figures.

Farmersville ISD school board approved the 2016-’17 salary plan during the June 20 meeting.

The plan is for classroom teachers, full-time librarians, counselors and nurses.

Ranging from step one to 20, each employee was given a $1,000 raise and a salary increase.

“We want to attract quality teachers and the way to due that is to offer a competitive salary,” FISD Superintendent Jeff Adams said. “We have hard working teachers that we want to keep around and doing the pay raise is a way to do that.”
