The Farmersville Fire Department was a hubbub of activity last week as EMT students were practicing their skills for national registry exams to become fully certified Emergency Medical Technicians.

The program, Farmersville Fire Department EMS Academy, was started last summer by the fire department to answer the need for increased emergency medical training for the city’s first responders and firefighters.

Increasing the level of training allows a higher level of emergency care on scene when first responders are called by the community for help.
