Leaves of green: Olive Trunk Farms now open downtown

Scott and Lucy Rowdon, owners of Olive Trunk Farms, recently opened an aquaponic and hydroponic farm in downtown Farmersville. They use their produce to make organically grown salads, sandwiches and soups. They also sell their produce to local consumers. (Wyndi Veigel/The Princeton Herald)

Lots of green plants, light and open space welcome customers to a new downtown establishment that pairs science with food.

Olive Trunk Farms, located at 106 McKinney Street in Farmersville, has embraced the concept of farm to table wholeheartedly, except the “farm” is a collection of hydroponic and aquaponic growing operations inside the building.

The newly opened business is owned and operated by husband and wife duo Scott and Lucy Rowdon.
