Rain fell like teardrops prior to dedication of a sculpture in honor of 5-year-old Liyah Craddock who died in 2016 from DIPG, an aggressive form of childhood cancer.
As community members gathered the rain stopped, giving a reprieve and a bit of hope to those in attendance the one day things may look brighter for those suffering from the illness.
The sculpture depicts two little girls, Liyah and her twin sister, Layah, playing with joy at the Splash Pad, located on Farmersville Parkway.
