Lakehaven MUD project moves forward

by | Jun 10, 2021 | Latest

Two major homebuilders have made inroads in Farmersville by purchasing 1,838 lots in the development known as Lakehaven MUD.

The 453-acre master-planned community is located adjacent to Hwy 78 and County Road 550.

Green Brick Partners Inc. has teamed up with Meritage Homes for a 50/50 partnership to develop the property first identified as Lakehaven in 2019. According to a news release issued by Green Brick, the developers anticipate construction to start in February 2022. It is expected to include 40 – 60 foot lots within multiple stages of development. As of now, home sales will begin in Fall 2023.

Green Brick Partners plans to offer homes through its subsidiary Trophy Signature Homes brand. Meritage Homes plans to build 919 single-family homes in three different floorplan series designed to appeal to families or empty nesters. Based on home closings in 2020, Meritage Homes is known as the sixth largest homebuilder in the U.S. Several neighboring communities such as Brookside in Princeton, Lavon Farms in Lavon and Ranch Park Village in Sachse offer Meritage Homes with price points starting around $325,000.
