Council approves pipeline agreement

by | Mar 19, 2026 | Area news, Latest

A key infrastructure agreement tied to the Farmersville Parkway project won city council approval March 16. The deal with the North Texas Municipal Water District advances plans for a treated water pipeline to support long-term growth.

The agreement allows the city to install a steel casing beneath the Farmersville Parkway project so the district can later place a 48-inch treated water pipeline without disrupting the roadway once construction is complete.

City staff said the arrangement will help establish a second water delivery point for Farmersville north of town, an area expected to see continued development in the coming years.

The city’s portion of the project is estimated at $138,163 and will add approximately 21 days to the parkway construction timeline.

Council also received an update on progress related to the Farmersville Parkway project. Staff reported that underground utility work is about 75 percent complete. Sewer work connected to the project has largely wrapped up, while water and storm utility installation continues.
