Farmersville ISD trustees addressed state legislation, financial considerations and future planning during a regular meeting Monday, March 30 at Farmersville High School.
Assistant Superintendent Micah Taylor provided an overview of student performance and instructional progress across the district. Deputy Superintendent Jason Gomez expanded on those updates, while trustees discussed district data and future expectations.
Administrators also noted that while student performance continues to improve, changes in the state’s accountability system may impact how ratings are perceived moving forward.
“Schools have improved over time, but the state continues to adjust the scale, which can make it appear like performance is dropping even when it isn’t,” Superintendent Micheal French said.
During the business portion of the meeting, trustees approved the district’s annual financial audit engagement letter for the 2025–26 fiscal year. Assistant Superintendent of Finance Anna Baker presented the item, emphasizing its role in maintaining transparency and compliance with state requirements.
