JP seeks temporary staff to ease caseload in Collin County

Collin County Precinct 1 Justice of the Peace Paul Raleeh’s staff needs help and on Monday, the justice of the peace asked county commissioners for “long term, temporary” staffing to help the court move cases more quickly.

Raleeh didn’t get the help he sought right away from county commissioners, although they did appear sympathetic to what the judge described as a situation that needs immediate attention.

Commissioners didn’t decide on Raleeh’s request but appeared to accept a recommendation from Commissioner Cheryl Williams to study more thoroughly the county’s funding and staffing needs in all the JP courts.
