No money for Main Street

Farmersville City Hall has set what amounts to a “drop dead” date on when it needs to hire someone to manage its accredited Main Street program.

That date is Jan. 1, 2023. If the city doesn’t have someone hired and on the job by then, according to Mayor Bryon Wiebold, the city could lose its accreditation from the national Main Street program.

What’s more, Wiebold said, “getting it back is going to be a very difficult task. They’re going to make us jump through a lot of hoops.”
