The forecast is looking clear for residents and visitors to descend upon historic downtown Farmersville for the annual Farmersville Chamber of Commerce parade this weekend.
Originally set for Saturday, Dec. 10, and now rescheduled for Saturday, Dec. 17, the event — had it occurred — would have likely been more like a “Wild Wet” parade because of torrential rain versus the intended Wild West themed parade.
According to Chamber Director Marissa Tucker, the parade instructions will be the same and check-in will begin at 3:30 p.m. on Farmersville Parkway near South Hamilton Street with judging at 5 p.m. followed by the parade at 6 p.m.
The parade will start near the Best Center and the Farmersville Heritage Museum on Farmersville Parkway before turning left on Main Street, followed by another left on McKinney Street. The Farmersville Historical Society also rescheduled its Victorian Christmas and Country Store last weekend. The Bain-Honaker House, located at 108 College St., will be open Dec. 17 to welcome visitors before the parade, from 4:30-6 p.m., or after the parade, from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
