The newly hired economic director has left his position with Farmersville Economic Development Corporation.
Larry Tucker was hired as the FEDC’s first executive director on Jan. 17, 2023. His departure was confirmed April 27 by FEDC president Matt Crowder.
“Larry did leave, and I wish him the best,” Crowder said. “We have reposted the position and [are] looking to find a good candidate.”
Tucker did not respond to the Times when asked for a comment.
Shortly after his hire, in a Jan. 26 story in the Times, Tucker said it was an “exciting time for me to be here. I look forward to working for and with, all businesses and residents of Farmersville.”
In that story, Crowder said the FEDC has been preparing for the addition of a director for over a year and budgeted both the resources and training to fill the position.
After Tucker’s hire, Mayor Bryon Wiebold announced the new position on LinkedIn.
“This has been over a 3-year process and a considerable amount of heavy lifting by Matt Crowder, our EDC 4A Chairman and the rest of the 4A board. A sincere and well-deserved thank you for service to your city. Farmersville is excited about Mr. Tucker’s hiring and the potential it brings to our city to strategically move forward.”
