Farmersville Police arrested Michael Stoker after a chase occurred July 6.
Around 12:30 p.m., officers attempted to stop a known wanted suspect identified as Stoker in the 100 block of Woodard Street.
Subsequently, the suspect and a friend fled from officers in a red Ford pick-up and traveled a short distance to the 100 block of Buckskin Street. The vehicle came to a stop and the suspect fled on foot. The friend stayed with the vehicle and has cooperated with police, according to Police Chief Mike Sullivan.
Officers pursued the suspect on foot for several blocks, through yards and backyards until he was subsequently caught and detained in the 300 block of College Street.
“When police went in to clear a home for the owner, the suspect jumped from the attic and ran for the door,” Sullivan said. “About an hour later he was caught.”
The suspect was arrested on a warrant for theft out of Grayson County and charged with felony evading and criminal trespass by Farmersville. Additionally, this suspect is currently facing additional evading charges from Van Alstyne Police from an incident that occurred in their city Thursday, June 29.
