by | Aug 11, 2020 | Latest

Independent Financial’s motor bank in downtown Farmersville was robbed at approximately 7:48 a.m. this morning, according to Farmersville police.

According to reports, as two employees were opening the facility, a white male forced his way inside and took an undisclosed amount of money.

The employees were confined to a bathroom and the suspect left.

The employees called police and units were dispatched at 7:59 a.m.

Upon arrival, Farmersville police in conjunction with state, county, and other area law enforcement agencies responded to the area. A perimeter was set around the bank area in search for the suspect.

The suspect was described as a white male, approximately 6’4 to 6’5, 170 to 200 lbs., wearing a camo hat, black long sleeve shirt, blue, or black sweat pants, a grey gator mask, grey tennis shoes and carrying a black backpack.

No weapon was reported being displayed.

Investigators are currently following up on leads, including video footage from residences and businesses along McKinney St. and the surrounding area.

Chief Mike Sullivan said the FBI has been notified per protocol and his department will work collaboratively with them during the investigation of this case.

Farmersville police are asking for help if someone had seen an individual matching the description walking on McKinney St. between 6:25 a.m. and 8:06 a.m. If you have information, please contact Detective John Williams at 972.782.6141.
